The C55 features an 8‐band analog equalizer to fine‐tune music with precision, creating a personalized audio experience – and the equalizer can be bypassed if desired.

C2800 Vacuum Tube Preamplifier:

The C2800 Vacuum Tube Preamplifier embodies a fusion of audio passion and engineering precision, crafted to delight even the most discerning audiophiles. The C2800 delivers a listening experience that transcends expectations, earning its place as a true McIntosh masterpiece.

At the heart of the C2800 lies methodically designed vacuum tube circuitry. Leveraging the latest designs to all but eliminate noise and distortion, the C2800 reduces them to minuscule levels. Its four vacuum tubes, or valves, deliver a listening experience that transcends expectations. The C2800 offers a tailored audio experience to optimize performance to each user’s individual specifications. Electronic bass and treble circuitry allow for volume level adjustments of low and high frequencies in precise 1dB steps. In addition, the C2800 remembers tone control circuitry bypass settings for each input.

Shared C55 and C2800 Performance Features

Each preamplifier boasts a staggering 16 inputs, including 9 analog and 7 digital connections, establishing either as the nerve center of any audio system. From analog to digital, the C55 and C2800 accommodate a plethora of sources, including turntables via their adjustable phono inputs along with audiophile‐grade DAC technology for exquisite digital audio conversion.
